Durant Roll Links



Of importance to those researching Native American ancestry in Michigan is the census taken by Horace Durant in 1908. Called the Durant Roll, this census covered the Sault Ste. Marie, Mackinac, Traverse, and Grand River bands. The Little River, Little Traverse, and Burt Lake bands are included as part of the main four bands.

3. In the drop down menu – click on catalog
4. Go down to film/fiche – enter 2229933
5. Click on the long title that comes up
6. There will be a list of four films.
2229933 is the payroll
2229934 is page 1 thru 25
2229935 is pages 26 thru 57
2229936 is pages 58 and 59, and correspondence
7. Click on the camera icon of the film you wish to view.
